GGF News 11/16/2011

This Sunday we will conclude our time in Acts as we prepare for Advent.  I am very excited to discuss four themes below.  They have been very stretching and challenging for me personally.  Please find some time to reflect on them and consider your own reactions.  All four are available to listen to at

Are there wrong reasons for becoming a Christian?  Although there may be many reason to begin a relationship with Christ- there may be only one that will last.  Check out Acts 8. 9-25.

How do you react when you get busted?   It takes courage to be humble- it is the coward that gets angry.

Have you ever considered the idea that God has feelings too?
God is distant, transcendent, and all powerful.  It’s easy to think that God doesn’t get his feeling hurt- or know the pain of rejection.  And yet, if Jesus is the revelation of God- then God does have feelings- and He does feel the awful pain of rejection.

Does God want to control us?  I recently read that the opposite of love is not really hatred, but control.  And when we are not living in love, we invariably try to control others.  God remains in love- and therefore out of control.  What do you think?

If you would like to discuss and of these thoughts further- I would love to get together with you.  Don Creasman 519-5556
